Conversion up 23%
A styling assistant that lifted online conversion 23% by matching shoppers to the right pieces.
01The Challenge
A New Zealand fashion label with a global online store had a quiet problem hiding behind healthy traffic: most visitors never found the thing they would have loved. The catalogue runs to hundreds of styles across seasons, fits and collections, and the search box only rewarded people who already knew the product name. Everyone else browsed a few pages, got no closer to an answer to 'what would actually suit me for this', and left. The team knew the conversion rate was leaving real money on the table, but more filters and bigger menus had never moved it.
02Our Approach
We built a styling assistant that talks to shoppers the way a good in-store stylist would. It asks about the occasion, fit preference, sizing and what they already own, then matches them to specific pieces from live inventory, explains why each one works, and builds a complete look rather than a single item. It quietly respects what is in stock in their size, so it never sells someone on something they cannot buy. It runs on the product data and lookbooks the brand already had, and it hands off cleanly to a human when a request gets genuinely bespoke.
03Outcomes & Impact
It behaves like our best floor staff, the ones who can read what someone actually wants and put a whole look together. Shoppers who use it spend longer, add more, and come back. Online conversion is up twenty-three percent on assisted sessions, average order value is up because people buy the look and not just the one piece, and returns have edged down because the fit conversation happens before they check out, not after.
AI is here. Most will react. The few with a plan will lead.
We build for those few.
